Drugs were a daily reality. By 18, he was using and dealing everything—weed, cocaine, pills, whatever he could get to survive and support his mom. In 2006, a mix of cocaine, MDMA, and alcohol stopped his heart for two minutes when he overdosed. Paramedics saved him, but the survival didn’t bring instant change. It took more jail time and finally a 12-step program for Jelly Roll to truly imagine another future.

Every day started at 4:30am: five-mile walks, intense pool laps, basketball drills, weights, and yoga.
