A drunk police officer was caught on CCTV harassing and threatening civilians outside a store in Lucena City, Quezon.

The incident, which happened around 2 a.m. on Saturday in Barangay Ibabang Dupay, was reported by Jamie Santos on “24 Oras Weekend.”

The video shows the man shouting outside the store, appearing to look for someone. “Asan yung kasama mo?” he yelled while pointing a gun at the people inside.

He repeatedly threatened to kill them, saying, “Alam mo naka-load na itong baril ko?” before firing his gun through the store’s window.

The store owners quickly locked the security grill when the man walked away.

The suspect was identified as Patrolman Rodolfo Avila Madlang-awa, assigned to Lopez, Quezon. He was allegedly drunk and initially came to buy ice. The situation escalated when another man arrived to buy cigarettes, and the officer pointed his gun at him.

Two more customers were also threatened, prompting the store owner to shelter them inside.

The officer’s brother eventually turned him in to authorities. He is now detained at the Lucena Custodial Facility.

Quezon Police Provincial Director Col. Romulo Albacea assured the public, “Sisiguraduhin ko po bilang inyong provincial director na siya ay mapaparusahan at tuluyang matatanggal sa serbisyo bilang pulis.”

The PNP Calabarzon Regional Office also condemned the act.

“Walang sinuman ang higit sa batas,” said PRO Calabarzon Director BGen. Jack W@nky. Charges include Grave Threats, Illegal Discharge of Firearms, and administrative offenses for conduct unbecoming of a police officer.
