Love Island USA Season 7 is off to a great start! In just the first week, the Peacock series had plenty of steamy moments, shocking twists, controversies, and juicy drama. It’s never a dull day in the Fiji villa! Here are some of the biggest moments from Love Island USA Season 7 week one.

Yulissa gets removed from Love Island USA Season 7

The first Love Island USA Season 7 cast shakeup happened right away. By the time of the Season 7 premiere, videos came out of Yulissa Escobar saying the n-word multiple times on a podcast. As a result, Yulissa was removed from the show.

This decision was announced so quickly on the show, Love Island USA viewers could blink and miss what happened to Yulissa. The last footage of Yulissa in the villa was of her sleeping on night one. By the time day two began, narrator Iain Stirling simply said, “Good morning, Yulissa has left the villa.” And that was that!

After her removal from the villa, Yulissa released a statement. She said she used the word “ignorantly, not fully understanding the weight, history, or pain behind it.” For many Love Island fans on social media, however, her response and apology left a lot to be desired. Needless to say, don’t expect to see Yulissa back in the villa for Season 7.

Bombshell Cierra shakes up the Villa on Love Island USA Season 7

Love Island USA premieres always feature a bombshell arrival. Season 7’s premiere ended with two hot new bombshells entering the villa amidst a kissing challenge. And one of them, Cierra Ortega, instantly stirred things up.

In a juicy twist, the bombshells got to choose a contestant to spend a night in the hideaway with. Cierra picked Nic, and things got steamy right away. Their shared love of Avatar: The Last Airbender and the Shrek franchise might have helped. But Nic wasn’t the only guy with an eye on Cierra. She also impressed Ace with her world travels, and with her favorite book being The Alchemist.

When the guys were asked if they’d like to couple up with Cierra, all but one left their partners at the firepit to stand by her. The only one who stayed was Jeremiah Brown, who is more or less closed off already with Huda. Ultimately, Cierra chose to couple up with Nic, stealing him from Belle-A. And thus began the first Season 7 love triangle.

Huda finally reveals her secret to Jeremiah

Huda and Jeremiah are this year’s Kaylor and Aaron. As in, they got way too serious too fast. On the last episode of Love Island USA Season 7 week one, fellow cast member Ace tried to remind Huda she’s only been with Jeremiah for four days. She responded, “I don’t care.”

But Huda and Jeremiah also faced a hurdle early on. Huda is a mom to a five-year-old daughter. As far as I know, she’s the first single parent to be a Love Island USA OG cast member. Huda told the girls right away, but decided to wait to tell the guys. This lead to some awkward moments and tension with Jeremiah. Most notably, when he asked what her second bedroom and bathroom were for.

After three days and lots of PDA, Huda finally decided to tell Jeremiah about her daughter. It was left as a cliffhanger. In the moment, he responded, “You’re a mom … but you’re 24 … how many kids?” and put his head in his hands for a while. He reassured her it wasn’t a dealbreaker. And that they could still “win this,” which raised some viewers’ eyebrows.

Belle-A drops her guard at the baseball challenge

On night one, when most contestants shared steamy kisses right away, Belle-A insisted the guys only kiss her on the cheek. While boundaries are great, some Love Island USA viewers wondered if Belle-A really knew what show she signed up for. As it turned out, she was just taking her time.

Love Island USA Season 7 week one featured a (frankly, bizarre) challenge that involved food, baseball, and kissing. Belle-A shocked everyone by announcing that she decided to make out with the guys, instead of just getting a peck on the cheek. The girls shouted from the stands that they were “so proud” of her. Belle-A chose Nic as her number one guy, reigniting the love triangle with him and Cierra.

That wasn’t the only shocking moment from the baseball challenge. Two new bombshells, Hannah and Amaya, surprised the Islanders during the game. When Amaya chose Jeremiah as her number one, Huda was upset to say the least.

The first Love Island USA Season 7 recoupling sends an OG home

Week one ended with the first recoupling of Love Island USA Season 7. When host Ariana Madix entered the villa, she announced this meant one girl would go home. The recoupling featured some expected choices, like Jeremiah choosing to stay in a couple with Huda. There were also some surprises. For instance, Ace chose to recouple with Amaya despite flirting with Chelley since day one.

Ultimately, it came down to Nic, who had to choose between Cierra and Belle-A. The night before, Nic made out with both women nearly five minutes apart. And didn’t tell either of them about the other one, of course. Nic gave his choice away when he mentioned a make out session in the photo booth. His steamy moment with Belle-A happened in Soul Ties.

That meant Belle-A was sent home. Nic said he wished it wasn’t like this, but Belle-A stood her ground. She reminded him, “You made it like this.” But that doesn’t mean Nic and Cierra are happily ever after. The preview showed that Cierra quickly discovers Nic’s secret make out sesh with Belle-A. While one love triangle ended, there’s set to be many, many more as Love Island USA Season 7 continues.
