“Our plane @flyPAL going to Butuan had to turn back to Manila just 10-15 minutes after takeoff due to a technical issue.

“Mid-air, I found myself lowkey panicking—my mind racing, even looking for seat 11A.

“I tried to stay calm, prayed hard, and thankfully, we landed safely. What a morning. back in Manila.”

KIM CHIU JOKES ABOUT SEAT 11A

Sa kanyang Instagram Story, may mas mahabang kuwento si Kim tungkol sa pangyayari.

Ayon sa actress-TV host, sumagi sa isipan niyang hanapin ang “Seat 11A” dahil ito ang “safest seat” sa mga eroplano.

Ang Seat 11A ay ang upuan ng lone survivor ng nag-crash na Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner ng Air India sa residential area ng Ahmedabad noong June 12, 2025.

Ito rin ang seat number ng Thai singer-actor na si James Ruangsak Loychusak na nakaligtas naman sa plane crash noong December 11, 1998.

Ang problema nga lang daw, nagsimula ang plane seating ng PAL sa 21.

Sabi ni Kim, “O to the M to the G PR2967

“Maybe reading too much news lately got me a nervous today.

“So much so that I caught myself looking for seat 11A-because, according to the internet, it’s the ‘safest seat.’

“Except… our plane’s seats started at 21. Hala!”

Dagdag pang kuwento ni Kim, nagtataka siya kung bakit pabalik-balik ang crew ng eroplano sa cockpit noong nakalipad na sila.

Kaya nang inanunsiyong may technical issue ang kanilang eroplano, nagdasal na lamang daw siya.

Aniya: “Quick story: Our flight was at 4:30am, and we finally took off around 5-ish.

“But just minutes after takeoff, the pilot announced we had to return to Manila due to a technical issue.

“Before that, the crew had been going in and out of the cockpit, which already had me low-key panicking.

“I tried to calm myself by sleeping it off, but when I woke up and we were still on the ground…. my thoughts went wild.

“As we turned back mid-air, all l could do was pray.

“But by God’s grace, we landed safely back in Manila.”

Napagtanto raw ni Kim na hindi talaga masisigurado ang kaligtasan.

Saad niya: “It was a frightening experience–but I’m grateful. Grateful we made it back. Grateful to walk off that plane and breathe a little easier.

“Safety should never feel uncertain, but today reminded me just how precious and fragile life is.”
